Our little winter storm

Well it came a big storm last night. It started with rain, then ice, lots of wind and lightening. Then this morning everything was white. Lots and lots of snow and very cold. It looks pretty outside. My wonderful hubby tried to go to work this morning. It’s really not that far to his work. And he is a really good employee. He at least tries to go work instead of just calling in. Our neighbor/friend behind us works at the same place so he was going to ride in with my hubby. Well on their way in he got stuck in our van. He couldn’t see how high the pile of snow was until he was on top of it. So he called his boss, who is also our land lord. He was going to come try and get my hubby un stuck but got stuck himself about a block from where hubby was. So hubby and our friend/neighbor walked over to get the boss unstuck. They couldn’t. So the boss called a friend who came and got him unstuck. So, the boss, my hubby, and our friend/neighbor all got in the bosses jeep and went to their work. They were supposed to go back and get our van. But the boss decided he wanted to go play instead. Which actually ment him and his friend drove around town in their 4 wheel drive vehicles slippin and slidin and helping people who were stuck. So he brought my hubby and our friend/neighbor back home and said they'd go get the van later. So, now our van is stuck in snow up the road, a ways, from the house, with the flashers on and unlocked.
Now my husband and thirteen year old son are walking up to the van. It will most likely take them 30-45 minutes maybe an hour. The wind is blowing really hard, it’s still snowing, and it’s nearly freezing outside. I’m not very thrilled about this right now. But, hubby is worried about the van getting broke into or towed.
Sorry, this post is on going over 2 days.
So, hubby got back to the van and there were about 10 people stuck in that same stretch of road now. He tried to move the van and dig it out but there was no moving it. The army came by, we are near a base, and tried with a humvee truck thingy. They were able to free some other people but not out van since it was half buried in a snow drift bu that time and the so much snow had blow up under neath the van it was packed solid. Then hubby's boss shows back up with a friend and said there was no way they could get it and then lectured my hubby for walking to the van. lol. (His boss treats my hubby like a son)
So, my hubby locked up the van and turned off the flashers and left the van there all night.
Today he got up and rode to work with our neighbor/friend. Sometime this morning my hubby and his boss drove over to the van and was able to get it out now. Some time last night the city came by with their big trucks and crunched up all the snow all around our van and sprayed a lot of salt and sand around it. (that was so nice, they didn't tow it) lol.
Now our van is home safe again.
yea!
