Workbox Wednesday

My oldests Workboxes for Wednesday. He does Reading Daily. I let him pick the book most of the time. Right now he is reading Calling on Dragons. Today he is also doing Math. For Math we use Math-U-See. He is doing PreAlgebra this year. For History he is learning about the Mayflower. He has been doing a unit study and is on the third and final week of The Mayflower. Today he is reading one chapter from The Mayflower & The Pilgrims new world. He is also also going to make a 3D map of the Voyage. For Georgaphy we are using Expedition Earth from Confessions of a Homeschooler.
This week is all about China. I combined Expedition Earth and EdHelper where I found tons of printouts about China. All week they are practicing writing their name in Chinese, and saying Hello in Chinese.Today they are learning Chinese numbers, Learning about Confucius, putting together an Animal flip book, and learning about Animal Classificiation and Animals from China.

In Science we are using Ellen McHenry's Chemistry curriulum The Elements. We also use Learn Science for DS.

In English/Language Arts he is doing a unit study on French Fairy Tales. This week he has read Little Red Riding Hood and is reading Cinderella.

For Life Skills today John is playing Sims 3 for a little bit. And the Other workbox is usually handwriting and the mini page from the local paper.
